If you have ever waded in the cool, emerald water of Austin’s Greenbelt, you know the peaceful and inspiring magic this place offers! (And if not, you’re in for a treat!) Join fiction writer and Write Well Austin founder Ashleigh Pedersen for a special creative writing adventure in the Greenbelt on Saturday, April 30, from 10-12:30. We will explore the trails, get out feet wet (if there’s water), hunt for geodes, and make up stories inspired by our surroundings! Students in this workshop will experience the joy of being in nature, moving their bodies, and using their imaginations! Laughter is guaranteed. Imperfection is strongly encouraged.

Writing in the Woods

When: Saturday, May 14, 9:30am-12:00pm

Suggested age group: 5th-8th graders (exceptions may be allowed)

Cost: $95/student (enjoy a 10% discount for signing up with a friend or sibling!)

How to register: PayPal writewellaustin@gmail.com and include your child’s name as well as your personal contact info in the payment. Or, contact Ashleigh at writewellaustin@gmail.com for payment alternatives.

What to bring: Wear sunscreen, as well as clothes and shoes you can get a little dirty and possibly wet. Bring something to write with a notebook, as well as water and an optional snack. Finally, Ashleigh strongly suggests mosquito repellent so students do not get eaten up by Austin’s ravenous mosquito population!

Where to go: We will meet at the Gus Fruh entrance to the Greenbelt on Barton Hills Drive.
