The Writing Barn
Workshop Guide: Ashleigh Pedersen
Workshop Details: What stories still move you to laughter or tears? What stories remain untold? What stories do you want your children, and their children, to know or understand? This workshop will provide you the opportunity to read short essays and memoir excerpts, to discuss their craft, and to write down your own personal stories. Writers of all levels will feel supported in their efforts to explore, discuss, and create!
The magical Writing Barn provides an especially inspiring space to meet, with large oak trees, a huge screened in porch, plenty of cool, comfortable indoor space, and a full kitchen.
$240/person. Register via PayPal (firstname.lastname@example.org) and include name/email address, or email Ashleigh at email@example.com to pay by check or credit card. Space is limited.
Please bring your preferred writing device. Pens and paper are encouraged in addition to any electronic devices. You are welcome to bring food along with you as well. Tea and light snacks will be provided.
About Your Workshop Guide: Ashleigh Pedersen holds an MFA in Creative Writing from the University of Pittsburgh and a BA in English from Virginia Commonwealth University. Her work has been shortlisted for Best American Short Stories, and published in New Stories from the South 2010, the Secret History, the Kenyon Review, Covered with Fur, and the Iowa Review. She has almost a decade of teaching experience, including three years at a college level and four years in a high school classroom, and is the founder of Write Well Austin. When she is not teaching workshops, leading writing retreats, and offering private tutoring, she is hard at work on her first novel (and is almost finished!).
